How long until LED or Laser projectors?

How long do you think it will be until we can buy LED or Laser projectors?
I can see many benefits to LED & laser like super accurate colors & very long lamp lives.

I'm planning to build a standalone theater but will be using my current equipment at first so do you think in the next year or 2 we'll be seeing these new technologies in front projectors?

I would give it 2 to 3 yr's for to see someting come out.

I have heard NOTHING on that front but its gotta be coming.

You don't think the guys at TI are sitting there NOT trying to figure out a laser projector? Screw "the mirrors" its all about (as Mini Me says) "the laser"!!!!

Well I'm a ways off from buying my front projector, so hopefully by then more info will be out so I can decide on whether to wait on one or not.

Well if it's like any other new tech it will take likely 3 generations before it's actually performing at its near best.

DLP projectors showed promise when they came out but took 3 years to "shine," imho.

DILA was the same way.

If I were you I'd be looking at whatever JVC's HD-ILAs are doing when you get around to buying. Currently I think they're the top of the line projectors under $10k.

The bug-a-boo is in the green lasers. From what I understand, making them small enough AND perform equally to the red and blue lasers output will take an act of congress (we all know how congress works, he,he)
