Question about video signals

Hi to everybody,

I would appreciate some advice on what kind of equipment I need to send a single video signal to mulitple televisions and each television will display a portion of the image. When I place all of the televisions together on a wall, the entire image will be visible.....Kind of like a puzzle with all the pieces fitting together to make the complete image.

I hope I am making sense with this and I would be SO GRATEFUL for any advice or suggestions.

You would need a device known as SplitTechnologies. It is a processor that splits the image to be sent to multiple displays. the ict SplitMachine HR 22 can do a 2x2 (4 screens). The ict SplitMachine HR1500 can do 6x6 (36 displays) and the HR3000 goes up to 7x7 (which should be 49 displays, but it claims the ability to drive 52 displays).

There are others out there, as well as entire companies that are dedicated to video walls. If you want a DIY verison, you may be able to build a dedicated PC with software that can process the signal and has enough outputs to export to your video screens.

Personally, if you want a large video display, I would go with a projector. Video walls are good for businesses and showrooms.

Have you looked at the Distribution amps that Dtrovision makes?

They have 18 DVI in/out units as well as smaller ones.

They are very popular in the professional installation market especially in commercial spaces.

Great product...However, it is not what he is looking for. He wants to be able to divide a single signal to be displayed back together spread out over multiple screens. Much like the video walls you see at the back of Best Buy.

OK, video walls are for stores, stadiums and expos. If you want a big display, gety a projector, or some of the Stewart Glass....
