From what I saw in your link they both have passive subs. Nothing wrong with passive subs they just use the amplifier in the receiver rather than built into the subwoofer. When you are talking about a sub $500 system, most will use passive subs.
As far as why the Onk, I feel they are better than the Yammies. No more than that. |

so the recievers are pretty much equal? i mean ive seen the yamaha one for 230,but they dont sell that onk receiver seperate. would there be any big differences between the 2 receivers?

How do you start a new thread on this darn thing anyways.I just wanted to know when someone buys a DVD recorder and uses,of course,either a DVD plus or minus RW disc,how many times can you record over and over the same disc,just like on a blank VHS tape,until it no longer becomes usable.Thank you.
