True Subwoofer Signature (Sunfire) No Sound

I have a pair of subs that I am trying to repair, I got them for free because they don't currently work. I determined that the problem was with the onboard amp, since when connected to an external amp the woofers work fine. The problem was that whenever it was plugged in, the two internal fuses blew. I determined that a bunch of the transistors were bad, so I replaced those. Now the fuses are fine but I'm still not getting any sound. Any ideas?

Ok, it seems as though you need a new amp. Problem with the sunfire is they use a propritary amp that is very high power. You might try using another amp either external or replace the amp with a new one. subwoofer amps at partsexpress has some pretty nice subwoofer amps.

I believe the onboard amp is 2700 watts. Is this what size replacement amp I need? Sounds pricey.

Yep it would be probably cheaper to buy a new Sunfire. Give them a shout and see what a new amp would cost.
