If you put one of these in a Honda - I don't think it would move.

The JL subs are serious.

The build quality was second to none but with music it sounded bloated, boomy, and over bearing even after turning down it's output. Listening to movies was different, U571 felt like someone was punching me with each depth charge. I hope to find a different dealer with a better setup for music before I make up my mind for sure if this sub is for me.

You gotta find another dealer OR make that dealer let you take the woofer home.

I am not kidding - the JL woofers ROCK.....

I concur with Jerry. A lot of times, the dealer you use is everything. The ability to take it home on trial for some components is so key.

I know this is not exactly the same but I built a custom enclosure for an 18W6 and hooked it up to my Denon. This thing has some serious SPL to it and will just rock my house!

I'll be listening to one next week!
My dealer has a Gotham in their listening room so while they are installing my new car stereo I'll be bringing one of my Blu-Ray movies & checking it out.
