Martin Logan Dynamo
I am looking for a small sub and a friend recommended the Martin Logan Dynamo. No one in town sells them so I will have to wait to hear one. Before I travel I was wondering if any body has heard one and is it worth chasing down.
I will be using it with the new B&W 685s, which are incredible for their size and price but I am not impressed with the B&W subs. Thanks Dave |
Re: Martin Logan Dynamo
Hi, I used a Martin Logan Dynamo for a year and enjoyed it tremendously. I made a major step up to a Revel B15 and I will likely never purchase another sub again.
What I LOVED about the Dynamo: 1) Compact 2) Tight bass and deep--went down to 25Hz 3) Easy to place and move. Flexible 4) Filled my large listening room with ease (24'x24') 5) Non-ported design. I wanted an enclosed sub 6) Aluminum woofer What made me change: 1) I wanted room EQ 2) I wanted bass down to 18Hz as I felt I was missing something. For a 10" sealed enclosure, I cannot think of a better unit. Note, I had to make a SIGNIFICANT price jump and jump in unit quality to make me change. Good luck! |
Re: Martin Logan Dynamo
Thanks, I am going to have to make up my mind soon because our Canadian dollar has tanked and prices will be going up soon. The only problem i have is nobody within 500 miles sells them.

Re: Martin Logan Dynamo
Dave,
You can find them on ebay.com or audiogon.com for around $350-$450 US. I would suggest that $350 be the price for a used one in "good" condition", $400 be the price for on in mint/near mint and $450 be the price new in box. Just my 2 cents. All the best, Theo |
