Outside TV - plasma or LCD
 

looking for some advice on which TV is best for outside use - plasma or LCD - will be used in a completely covered patio - concern is heat - getting mixed messages on which (plasm or lcd) would stand up better to the heat - have it narrowed down to 2 TV's - samsung PN42c450 (plasma) - vizio - E420v0 - both $539.00 ..

If it were me I'd go with the LCD. In addition to lower heat (possibly) the LCDs will work better in high light areas.

The concern on the LCD was how the 'outside heat in Phoenix 100+ would effect the LCD screen - I was told it would 'dry out' in 2 years vs a plasma which was a glass screen and would stand up better..

I'm not sure about that. I've not heard about LCDs drying out. No real liquid in LCD panels. See: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/in...6143717AAURYWS
