I am wondering, as an expirament. How do you connect a IPod to a Music Fidelity Dac. The headphone output on a ipod is analog, so is it impossible to conect it to a dac? Or is there some kind of connector you can use on the bottom output of a ipod ( the one you use to connect to your pc) that adapts it to the digital RCA input of a dac?

Wadia just released their iPod transport, it's only $379 and I believe currently shipping from Music Direct.
Currently it is the only device to output a true digital feed from the iPod without reworking the unit, and was the most significant product of the year @ CES this year (to me and many others....)

Thanks, I'll look in to it. I just hooked it up to the video input on my pre and it works. I dont think my freinds would notice a difference, and thats all I'd use it for, when people were over. $400 to hook it up to my Dac might be overkill? I'll need to give it some thought. I'm a little bumed right now, I got out bid by $2.00 on a pair of 10' 8TC bi-wired Kimber on ebay. Thnaks though.

Actually, if you think about it, for the $379 if you rip your files as lossless or WAV or AIFF, you'll have a super simple to use music server with a great DAC and lossless digital feed, that's a steal!

But, like Dan said at the Krell show, 125 million I-pods have been sold, so why not try to tap into that market and get them interested into the high end. |

Hi, Kenny.
I certainly agree with you. Your suggestion is really helpful for me. Thanks a lot for sharing this nice thought. |
