What is "British sound"? It's the first time I've heard of it. I looked up the Rega Apollo. I'll need to find somewhere close to me to audition it.

The Apollo has won all kinds of awards, I personally haven;t heard it but it is supposed to be a great buy for it $995 retail.

The British sound is a little laid back and mellow, very non fatiguing.

As a suggestion try to audition an eastern electric minimax vac tube player.I have one in my sytem and really enjoy it alot.I actually was torn between the roel rcd1072 and the minimax and preferred the minimax.

I love the Apollo, word is though that they raised the price. Which is a shame if true.
