Bel Canto CD-2 - I am impressed.
I saw and heard this player at CES and it made all the sense in the world to me.
Not $40,000 (actually more like $2,000) - looks cool, sounds open and liquid. Physically, it has an "Apple" look to it. Modern, non-standard size (not everybody likes that but I do in audio gear not designed for a big rack) Check it out. I know they can't keep them in stock at Bel Canto's MN factory. Made in USA. |

Even more impressive is their soon to be released iPod dock which will pull the digital stream straight off the player to your system vs running it through Apple's own crap analog outs.
But yes the CD-2 or CD turntable as they call it is AMAZING. On par with the best which seems to be a running theme over there. |

I've heard this unit is very comparable in sound to the old Wadia units that cost around $8k. If so then it's a steal.
I should audition it for my 2Ch setup. |

While Wadia makes some fine digital products I prefer BelCanto's simplicity and pricing model which, to me, make them the better players. You should definitely hear it though, it sounds amazing.
