Here are some pictures of the home theater in my basement. When we built the house, the builder "roughed in" the half bath in a weird spot. The door to the half bath is on the front wall. I painted the whole wall, trim and all, in black. Now you cannot see anything on the front wall, when the lights are off. I liked it so much, I painted the ceiling black. It really made a remarkable improvement in the projected picture.
The equipment is in shelving built into the wall. Behind the wall is a storage area, so I can stand behind it and get to the wiring. Equipment is as follows: Sony VPL-VW50 Pearl projector Denon AVR 3808ci receiver (using processor only) Outlaw 750 5 channel amplifier Denon DVD-2500BTCI Blu-ray transport Toshiba HD-A35 HD-DVD player Directv HD receiver Montana EPS front main speakers Montana SPC center channel speaker Energy Veritas Surround speakers Def Tech subwoofer PS Audio P300 Richard Gray 400 (2) Monster power 3600 Purepower 1050 is on the way. I hope to replace more than one of the current power components with it. I will see how it goes when I get it. I'm in the process "rebuilding" my 2 channel system, decoupling it from my home theater system. I have a veritable graveyard of used equipment. I still have my NAD 3020 integrated amp, which started it all. |

Also, the room size is 20' by 12'. The pictures make it look narrower than it really is. The screen size is 92 inches.

Nice setup!
I'm amazed you got the wife to let you paint the ceiling black!!! Mine would have castrated me if I'd done that!

She was skeptical, to say the least. She was surprised at how much she liked it when it was finished.
Calls it the "man cave", and pretty much lets me do what I want with it......but the veto power is always there (of course). |

My office gets that title as my HT is the main living room.
You will LOVE the PurePower 1050!!! I got the 700 in for review and immediately added another shelf to my rack, it was so impressive their was no way it was leaving my system! I suspect with the 1050 you can power your entire rig, the only possible problem might be the projector, I'm not sure what kind of draw it has.
