Boy, you took me way back with the AR speakers and Garrard turntable. Yes, those were the glorious analog days. My first turntable was a Dual 1229 I bought from my summer job when I was 16. The car is very impressive.

Yes the Dual was my second record player but I can't remember the model #. I do remember picking a cartridge was easy because I always bought the latest Shure cartridge.
If I remember correctly my first was the V-15 Type II.

Your kids are lucky! I am jealous!

My sons are 34 & 36 and they could care less about fast cars. I took auto shop in high school and got a taste for cars early, I don't think any HS offers auto shop anymore!
I also think modding cars for all go and no show is too expensive for most younger guys.
Over the last 10 years I've spent big $$$ on my car.

It's really easy to put big $$$ into cars, everything is so expensive when buying by the part.
