Re: best system for senior classical music listener

Nastarana,

I would be a very hesistant to purchase a used turntable on line. You would be better off buying a used table from a local dealer that can support you with the set up. I once...

Re: Must Own DVD/Bluray Concerts

Thanks for the tip on Soundstage!

I had heard from a audiophiile buddy that Jeff Beck "Live at Bonnie Scott's" on Bluray is phenomenal.

Must Own DVD/Bluray Concerts

I was walking through Best Big Box today with my 18 month old son. We had to get an extra Wii remote for Christmas. I was kind of looking through the aisles for a new Concert DVD to purchase, but...

Re: Matching receiver for speaker

Sensitivity = 88.5 db (1 W, 1 m)

The 890DC Ventos are not the most efficient speakers so the more power that you give them the better they will sound. I don't have a lot of experience with...

Re: High end processors VS low end processors/receivers, hardware differences?

Hi Greg,

No doubt the Integra has a huge list of features and sounds great for the class it is in. As a hobbiest for 18 years and now a dealer for the last six years I have had a lot of...

Re: Marantz vs Rotel vs Anthem

Finally calibrated my Anthen D2V with the ARC. This is by far the best room correction soft ware that I have ever heard. Seemless transition from speakers to sub both in movies and in two channel...

Re: Coaxial versus Toslink/Optical

I was told be the engineers at Arcam that they put a lot more money and engineering into their coax connection than they did their toslink and for that reason it should sound better. The toslink was...

Re: How much difference do you think cables makes in the audio quality of your system

sleepyeddie,

I would tend to agree with Lotus. If it's working why bother changing it. If you have to buy more cables, I like XLO or Ultralink. Mostly because they have worked 100% of the time...

Re: Musical in-wall speakers on a relative budget.

Eric,

My bad I missed that you were approved for two rooms and two diferent systems. Still it's good to know that you can pool resources into one system that can do both.

Kenny, how are the...

Re: Musical in-wall speakers on a relative budget.

Eric,
I would agree with KennyT the Canton Vento 802s or the new 820s are a very musical two way speaker. I don't think that there is any thing in your price range that can come close to these...

Bam Bam,

If you can avoid it I would not use wall connectors. I have attached a few pics with the plates that I use. I can't remember where I got them but they were only 5-6 bucks. They come in...

Jerry, I 100% agree!

I am a dealer for a few brands of cables, so I am a little biased. That being said, I have...

Re: Anthem D2 or Arcam AV9?

I know that this is not a good answer and only complicates the decission, but what about a Halcro SSP-100 or 80?

If audio is your number one priority, then this is the unit to audition.

I have...
