Dish network is now allowing owners of the VIP622 to add your own external hard drive for extra storage of DVR recordings. Has anyone tried this yet? Are there any problems or do you have to use any certain brands or special software?

It's actually pretty easy. Just hook it up via USB, and you'll have it up and running in no time. Filling them up with HD Content is easy, but much less so now.
