Unhappy Wall Mounting my TV and hidding my boxes

I have a 50” Samsung that I want to wall mount and hide the cables and boxes. I have tried to go to my local best buy and ask what I need to do to accomplish this and NOTHING! All I want to know is what cables do I need to change the channel with the cable box Play a DVD and run my receiver? I want to relocate all of these items into a closet but not sure if that is possible. The cable and DVD player are both with HDMI cables I just want to know how I am going to change stations, and play movies. If you can help I would appreciate it! Thanks!

There are a number of IR repeaters that will allow the equipment to be relocated to another room. Probably one of the simplest would be a wireless unit so you don't need to run any wires for the IR system. I'd take a look at this one: Wireless Remote Extender

There are also wired IR repeaters as well, see: IR Commands For Components Inside Cabinets
