Installing boxes under the floor.

I would like to install a large box under the floor for the extra cabling, power filter etc. Also to run the cables through and under the floor. Any design ideas?

In my theater we built a platform for the back of the room. We perhaps OVER built it in terms of bracing and rigidity but it works out great for hiding cables, sight lines etc...

Have you considered running conduit? This way you can fish cables as you need them without dealing with any crazy drywall saws etc...

When installing cables under the floor make sure that you check into your local building codes. You may need to use UL rated cabling. Depending on the floor and whether you are in a condominium or where in the house you are you may run into other concerns such as penetrating fire barriers.
