What do you expect from a stock remote?

For those who own a true home theater sure...

but what about the majority where a home theater consists of a big screen TV and surround sound. The remote is extremely important because it's likely what they will actually be using. Harmony Remotes and their like still don't sell as well as Receivers, TVs, etc. so people are obviously using the stock remotes.

Personally I like it when a stock remote is just a rebadged Universal of some kind.

This has been happening more and more, some still try to make their own universals (Marantz) and do a pretty good job if it, some are so difficult to use they are pointless.

I think it's funny how my $250 element 19" lcd from circuit city is the exact same remote as the $8,000 JVC DLA-RS2 projector, just different labels for the buttons.

Have you seen the new Remotes for the Denon receivers?

It's cool looking but absurdly un-intuitive.

I like seeing more RF Universal rebadged remotes. Thats just smart.

Somebody is going to strike a deal with Logitech at somepoint too.

So far Monster has, the Monster remotes are just Harmony's relabeled and shaped, oh and they cost a lot more!
