well thank you for some of that!! I'm not such a noob,just didnt know much about seperates.I actually looked a little closer after i posted my last reply and now it all makes sense The preamp is basically an audio/video receiver without the amplifier inside.It sends all of the signals to the amp.So, now from what i saw you would need 5 digital coaxial cables running from the preamp outs to the amp in.one for each channel.At least thats what it looked like on the pictures on the emotiva website
