Default Pioneer Elete VSx-74 TxVi Help setting up zones or volume control

I was lucky esnough to purchase a new VSX-74txvi recently. Yes, I know it is an older model but an authorized seller found it in a closet. It was a great find.

My problem is that I am not able to control then speaker A and speaker B volumes independently. Hopefully, someone will be able to offer some help. I have spent a good deal of time with the manual but confess to not fulling understanding the set up procedures for independent zones and am not even sure it is required to meet my needs. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Basically, I have Speaker A for my television (5.1 set up with the Bose Acoustimass 16 speakers) and use speaker B for whole house speakers (run through a Russound Sound distribution box). My problem is that the volume on speaker A (Bose Acoustimass 16) overpowers the speakers in speaker B. There is plenty of power to drive speaker B but it is just overpowered by speaker A. I often play music and my goal is to use the TV room (speaker A) for critical listening but have the music flow throughout the house (speaker b) for parties and general listening. I thought this was possible when I purchased the unit but controlling the differences in volume continues to the the problem.

How do I raise the volume of Speaker B so that is is closer the that of speaker A? I would like it to be variable when I raise the volume ofspeaker A if possible but as it is speaker B is too soft to be useful.

Thanks for the help,
