1/6 the price!! come on! The price I paid for the Denon 4308 was about 1995+tax at magnolia through promotions and coupons....nevertheless, I am not bashing onkyo, I just bought the 606. i am just saying in the real high/middle end Denon is a better product...

Denon should never be confused with "High End"!

Dude, u know what I mean...and besides I would challenge u to find any receiver, even the most esoteric brand that could rival Denon's high end 5308 or the new pre/pro amps. The 4308 is by far on the cutting edge of mid/high.

I'm old... Still using an Onkyo TX-38 that I got many years ago...Albeit it is not surround, well a kinda simulated surround...It does still have a great sound...

Tough to beat an Onkyo...

I just bought the 806 and it sounds great. The Audyssey MultiEQ is amazing.I set it up with the curtains open, closed, the microphone on a tripod, without a tripod and each time there was a slightly different sound. The sound is warm like a good record. It does run hot but I bought a little cooling fan that works great. I wish Onkyo included a switched outlet on the back. I am very happy with the sound. The 906 and 876 must sound amazing. Are there any 806 reviews?
