Do you leave your receiver on 24/7?
I was told 20 years ago to always leave my receiver on because it was harder on the electronics to go thru constant cold start/heat-up cycles than to be left on all the time so I have always left mine on, when I'm not watching TV or listening to a CD it's on the radio. Is this still true? Was it ever true? What do you do? Last edited by TheMoose; 06-22-2007 at 07:28 AM.. |

My Arcam300 goes into standby; so I do not know. It is cooler than when on, by quite a bit.

Many years ago, an electrician told me for integrated circuits and transistors, there is a heat up, and cool down period. And that this is not good for the circuits, and that it is better if they were left on. But I`ve neve followed this strategy with any amplifiers or receivers that I have owned. And, I can`t see that there was any evidence in my experience that my electronics did not benefit from this practice.
