Denon 3808 video probs???
I have my blu-ray hdmi and my HDcable box DVI-HDMI cables running into the amp. The bluray passes fine but when I try to switch to TV/CBL it is giving me problems and the picture won't pass though. Could this be do to the fact the Cable box has the old DVI video output?

Re: Denon 3808 video probs???
It is unlikely, some cable boxes and/or companies do not activate the HDMI or DVI-D ports on their units. I had one like this and could get it to work for often months at a time by unplugging the cable box and letting it reboot itself.
Another option is to do a google search for the model # of the cable box and see it you can find the service menus to activate the DVI port (some have it, many are controlled via the RG6 from the cable company. |
Re: Denon 3808 video probs???
I can tell you I have my Playstation 3 & my DirecTV HR20 going into the 3808 with HDMI & have no problems.
Like Kenny said check the settings in the cable box because I'd think if it was passing the Blu-Ray it should pass the cable if it's setup right. |
Re: Denon 3808 video probs???
I guess another thing to try would be to use a different HDMI input, the little circuit board inside the female HDMI connector can easily be damaged and that too could be causing your problem.

Also is the pure direct mode on the Denon for the uncompressed lossless track on blurays?
