It's a shame the Samsungs took a step back because they were cheaper. |

Well I bit the bullet and ordered a Sony KDS-60A3000. Amazon has them for $1699 and I noticed that Crutchfield also had them for this price but has sold out.
If anyone wants one I suggest get one quickly!! I can't wait for it to get here. ![]() Many thanks to Kevin Miller for all the great info you provide in this thread and forum!!! |

Jim,
You will really like it! I have the XBR2 70" one and it's an awesome display. Now you'd better get an HD DVD AND Blu-ray player to fully appreciate the 1080p/24 fps that display does!

I think you just bought the "best deal," in TV. Whether it's flat panel or not. That TV is flat out amazing especially for the price. I just bought one for my Sister for Christmas since she didn't want a flat panel. I think Perfect Vision agreed too. It's the best TV out there in the Price/Performance category. |

I recently lived with a new Samsung LED DLP TV in my house for a week.
The good news is that it uses less electricity than normal TVs and its bulb won't be burning out on you. That is about it. You have to sit in the sweet spot and have the TV raised to your eye level for any kind of good PQ. You still get some obvious hot spot issues. The colors aren't as accurate as I'd like either. Contrast was so so. I give them props for doing it though. I expect next years units to be better. I just got an LED LCD flat panel from them. It however seems to be an entirely different story. I'll post about it in the flat panel forum. |
