Different technology. Your flat-screen LED uses them to backlight the LCD panel (and are white). LED-lighted RPTV's use Red, Green and Blue LEDs to create all the colors on the screen via highly coordinated LED lights flashing on/off and millions of tiny mirrors.

Both can give great results. I have both, and I, also, LOVE my Sony LED LCD flat-screen, as well as my Samsung 61" LED RPTV.

i wanna get the JDM light too
there was a topic like this before about JDM lights
you can adjust the light a bit on the bulb to make it a bit legal in the US
but it's not 100% legal
still ........ the light a bit high, but noone ever got stopped by police, and no car flash it's light to the JDM light owner
