Sony KDS-R50XBR1 yellow stain

Has any one experienced the issue with this RPTV, that prompted the class action lawsuit for yellow "staining", green "blobing", etc. If so, I am experiencing yellow "staining" upon turning on my set. Once the lamp warms up the "staining" goes away. Is this the beginning of a more serious problem. Any response is greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Yea it sounds like the beginning of a problem, call Sony & it may still be covered under warranty.
Best way to check is to find you an all white screen & look for the colors there, they will show up their easier than regular programming.

Been there! It will not go away or get better. They end up replacing the light engine or offering a refurb replacement.

That should answer your questions. You should have until June 30, 2009 to have this covered under warranty by Sony.

Thanks for info. I called sony, they directed me to repair shop. Bad O.B. 2 weeks. In home, under warranty. Has anyone had this part replaced in their tv? I heard there were issues with "washed out" colors after optical block replacement. Oh yeah palmharbor?????
