Two optical blocks later and still experiencing problem. Negotiating with sony for replacement. They offered me 52" XBR6 for $1006 or 52" W series for $600. Still negotiating though because I bought it in March 2008 so its still under factory warranty Which I was told should give me a replacement at no charge. We'll find out. Keep you posted.

They ended up giving my parents a KDL-52XBR6 for $1300 including tax, it was purchased in November of 2005.
I'd think since yours was so new you should get a better deal.
Where did you find a new XBR1 in March of 08?

Yeah I'd think I should get a better deal since it's still under factory warranty, but today they told me the best they could do is the offer they gave me to begin with or to service it using another TV repair shop. Looking at the XBR6 yesterday I actually feel that I would be going backwards as far as quality of picture. To much pixilating! So I asked for an XBR2 RPTV new or refurb. No luck. So I'm going for repair # 3.
And I found my XBR1 in a small home theater store that had just changed locations and was try to get rid of overstock items $2000.00 for my XBR1. Didn't find out about problem with O.B. untilit was too late.

i bought a sony sxrd about 2 years ago and the whole screen has a green tint

anyone else have this issue - who do you call to get it fixed?

does sony cover it?

Is it an XBR model? if so call Sony ASAP & get the optical block replaced, if it's an XBR 2 it will still be under an extended warranty for the optical block, if it's an XBR 1 it may be too late but I'd call to make sure.
