I decided on the SXRD because of the fact the Sony SXRD XBR series sets just looked better than any thing else in the store.
I've been happy with both my XBR1 50" & my XBR2 70"

DLP was never a factor because I didn't like the idea of the wheel spinning at 5000 or what ever RPM, just something else to wear out after the warranty ran out + on the early sets I saw the rainbow artifacts.

DLP just seems to be the best overall value for price/picture quality ratio.

Do you mean DLP rear projection or direct view? DLP direct view is still the most expensive and to my eyes, seems a little TOO bight and "real".

My money bought the Sony, though the JVC D-ILA is another I considered.
