Only the Pioneer Elites are 72 Hz, most plasmas are 60 Hz, this has always bneen one of Pioneers advantages.

The non Elite Kuros also have the 72Hz "Advanced PureCinema with 3:3 Pulldown".

say it isn't so!!! just heard a news item last night that Pioneer is considering getting out of the plasma biz! this would be a tragedy, particularly considering how awesome their new "Advanced Concepts" Kuro demo looked at CES!

it was a brief item on our local NBC affiliate during last night's 11pm news but there's all sorts of confirmation at various online sources such as Engadget and Wired. Most of these report that they're plannning to halt plasma production and outsource from Panasonic but others say the entire product category is at risk and expect a formal announcement at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany this week.
