hdmi 1 no signal on panasonic tv

I have a panasonic viera tv tc-p50s30 and just bought a panasonic blu ray player dmp-bdt320p and am trying to hook the two up. i cannot get hdmi 1 to work. hdmi 2 works fine which is where the cable box is hooked into. hdmi 3 works fine but we would prefer not to use this because all of our wires are buried behind the wall except for hdmi 3 (don't ask). we cannot get a cable signal working in hdmi 1 either. so in other words, hdmi 1 does not work period. looking for help.

So I take it that HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 were wired through the wall and not HDMI 3. If this is the case maybe reconnect from the wall the cable for HDMI 1 to the HDMI 3 port on the TV and leave HDMI 1 on the TV not connected. Or am I missing something you ask me to not ask about?

To be sure it is the TV port and not a cable or connection, connecting directly from the player or cable box to the port with a known good cable is recommended. If the port is bad, then hopefully it is still under warranty.

thank you for your quick response. our hdmi cable (on tv) is connected directly from cable box to hdmi 2 - home run. blu ray player is hooked up the same way to hdmi 3. we only have two hdmi cables but three inputs. does this help?

we just took the hdmi wire that is coming from our cable box and plugged it into hdmi 2 and it works. we just plugged it into hdmi 3 and it works. we put it into hdmi 1 and it says no signal.
