No, there would be no reason to do it anyway. All ATSC signals use mpeg2 and would require an industry wide change for them to adopt mpeg4. Now in Europe it may differ. Where are you?

I am in Europe. The problem is that there's still no official standard adopted in my country, so at the time of the purchase I did not take this parameter into consideration.

The only DVB-T operator (which happens to be mpeg4) in my country started selling CAM modules recently and I noticed that my Sony Bravia does not work with this module. The same CAM module works fine in TV's with MPEG4 support.
