Panasonic new 3D movie bundle
Panasonic announced this week a new 3D Movie Bundle. Those who purchase a Panasonic VIERA VT25 Full HD 3D Plasma TV will receive Blu-ray 3D versions of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and Coraline.

Panasonic's VIERA VT25 Series Plasma Full HD 3D TVs include one pair of Panasonic 3D Active Shutter Lens Eyewear and will be available in early May in 50-inch ($2,599.95) and 54-inch ($2,999.95) sizes. 58-inch ($3,399.95) and 65-inch ($4,299.95) sizes will hit stores in June.

The VIERA VT25 Series TV must be purchased between May 16 and July 10, 2010 to receive the two Blu-ray 3D titles via mail-in coupon.

Complete details are available on the Panasonic website.

Re: Panasonic new 3D movie bundle
I think 3D is a passing fad.

Is there a standard for what will be 3D?

What about content?

What about the networks? Are they going to be willing to invest in 3D? They don't even do great 720p and 1080i at this time.

This is looking like SACD all over again.

There is a standard for how the 3D will be sent from a player to the TV, but not for the TVs. Most use shutter glasses.

There are a couple of cable networks that will broadcast in 3D shortly, ESPN is one I think.

All times are GMT -7. The time now is 03:53 PM.
