OLED is why Plasma is dead not because of LCD I just think it is premature.

(O)rganicLED Monitors beating plasma????
At over $200 a diag inch for a 11" with a res of 960 x 540, is that going to make me switch? Or is it the organic film used that used paper / carbon / organic materials that in the past have been proven unstable / because they decompose? The issue is that plasma monitors are multii-generations existing and have a fairly decent knowledge base at this time. Maybe something / OLED will be better than the best Pioneeer Plasma panels in the future, maybe 5 - 7 - 10 years, but other techs will also improve and CURRENTLY for the non-ultra-high consumer, the Kuros were at the Ultimate in display tech. Yes, I think Runco, etc are better but their price point tends to make them ultra high-end and are not competitiors, IMO. So, who wants the current generation OLED at $12k for a 60 inch?? Oh, but sorry, costs go up as we increase the panel so my guess the cost would be closer to $24k, if the tech existed to make a 60" OLED panel. |

I have lerned regardless of a so-called recession or not, no one in their right mind is going to spend 10 to 15 thousand on a television! 3 thousand tops on average and that is pushing it for most, so for Pioneer to market a televsion that more than likely only costs 1 to 2 thousand tops to make, it is ludicrous and even laughable that they think they were going to win with these overpriced plasma televisions. You can get almost exactly the same quality in a DLP television from a good brand, so no one is going to be that stupid or have that kind of cash for the most part, and if they did, they are not going to spend it on a television! Most people could buy a high quality surround sound 7.1 system with blu-ray AND a DLP tv for that. Good riddance to stupidity I say!

the OLED technology is already booming in Japan as well as high def and we cant even get to 480 p digital without having to move it to June! This is NOT a democracy in this country. It is greed and socialism. Michael Moore was right and proved it!
