Ok, i am buying a new tv,and i have 1800 to spend.I want 120hz,at least a 46" screen.I have been looking alot at sony 46w4100,but i have been interested in samsung as well.So basically, which samsung is as good as or better than the sony w series picture wise that doesnt have the high gloss screen i've heard bad things about?? Or would you recommend a different brand like the 47" LG ??? Also,if i wasnt set on buying an lcd tv,is ther a cvomparable plasma with as good or better picture quality and a bigger screen with a lower price tag.???

Samsung LCD Tv is better to use, Don't consider Price consider the Quality.

I would stay away from LG. LG is made by Funai, and many others have reported problems with their LG. From lousy picture to downright out-of-the-box defective. I would feel more comfortable with Samsung or Panasonic.

My son who works at Best Buy says that the Samsung 650, 750, 850 series are very good tv sets, and compare pretty much with any of the sony's ( they may be even better) maybe except for their latest $5000 XBR Sets. I don't know if the glare is any worse than any of the other tv's out there. Placement of your tv is the Key. If it faces a window, of course you will get glare on the screen. My next TV will be either the 46" Samsung 750 series or the Sony 46Z4100 , which either can be had for under $1600 if you shop around.

I prefer the Samsung’s over the other brands. They are doing great. I would suggest u to go for it. It’s definitely a good buy, both in terms of the price as well as the features it provides. And I believe LCD is better than plasma, if you go to a store where they have them turned on, you can compare the brightness of a plasma and LCD.Try this http://www.checkcost.co.uk/lcd-tvs/c/4329/ and for this may help you out to have a good deal on Lcd’s.
