Pioneer Plasma Display: PDP-5080HD or PDP-5010FD
I'm planning to purchase a 50-inch plasma display for my home theater, and I've narrowed my choices to one of two Pioneer models - the PDP-5080HD or the PDP-5010FD. From what I can tell, the only meaningful difference between the two models is the maximum supported resolution - 1365 x 768 (PDP-5080HD) vs. 1920 x 1080 (PDP-5010FD). I can get good deals on both models, but the PDP-5010FD will still be $1,400 more than the PDP-5080HD. Is the PDP-5010FD worth the extra money? Please advise...

Some of your decision does depend on the source you will be watching, but with everything going HD, and Blu-Ray the champ in video, I would go for the PDP 5010FD. Get the best you can, and you will be ready.
Provided your budget can handle it. That one is your decision. But at this point and time, I don`t see why you would settle for less. |

This may help you decide, when I started calling around locally for prices on these very two Pioneer HDTV's I told by more than one place, that the PDP-5080HD was no longer available or at least they were not able to get them.
