You guys should check out an Apple store near you. The new Mac Book Air uses OLED and the screens are way bigger.

1shot,
I think you might be wrong on the Mac Book AIr, I have of course seen it, and crave it! But I believe it is and LED backlit LCD, and not an OLED. Apple touts the LED backlighting as saving energy, and OLED display doesn't use backlighting. You had to bring that computer up, not I want one again!

I was at the Sony open house yesterday in Las Vegas. It's a mini CES for invited authorized Sony dealers. I asked the product manager if the XEL-1 OLED is or ever will be higher than 1080p. He has never heard of any resolution to be higher than 1080p since the bandwith would be too large for TV transmition and on disc. He said Sony has no plans to introduce any product greater than 1080p. I have a new catalog of all the new Sony products for 2008. Wait until you see the new TV's coming out this summer. WOW!!!. They had out of the box comparisions (blind) with Sharp, Samsung, Pansonic and Sony, and Sony was the clear winner in picture quality. As for the OLED specs, here is what their spec sheet says:
16:9 (960x540 resolution) 3mm thick 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio Memory stick slot Digital ATSC /QAM tuner <1ms response time HDMI (up to 1080p CEC compatible ) x2 Digital audio out built-in speakers wireless remote As for the Mac book Air, Sony had one on display next to Sony Vaio laptops, and the product specialist said that the Apple is an LED back lit LCD display as is Sony's, however the Apple has no drives built-in the unit where Sony does and the Sony weighs 4oz. less. That's why the Apple is slightly thinner. Lcflyer |

Interesting that the thing is 1/4 the the 'True 1080p HD' or Sony's and they are showing it with a Blu-ray.
