Lightbulb Re: Vizio

Well the "Vizio Effect" may be happening now.
I heard on the Buzz Out Loud podcast today that Sony is bringing out a low priced entry level line of LCD TV's for Wal-Mart & Target.
To me that sounds like a shot directed straight at Vizio.
I guess that means Vizio has hit the big time!

When you get the likes of Sony trying to copy your core business model you know you're onto something. In an ultra competitive marketplace to stay alive you have to go to the consumer. It seems with Vizio and Co. we finally have brands that give people what they want instead of manufacturers building stuff they try and make us think we need. There will always be a place for the ultra high end marketplace but the vast majority are going to want products that fit into not only their lifestyle but their budgets as well.

It has been rewarding to see the brand move up the charts to the top 10 and now the top 3. Announcements like that come from those that may be feeling pressure or compelled to respond. That alone is indicative of VIZIO's importance and impact in the market.

You know when Sony is copying your business model, you have hit them in the pocket book.

With a 2 billion dollar manufacturing facility, I bet they can make a fine set for cheap.
