Everyone,
This is a bit off topic but I must share my joy regarding the departure of my horrid Mercedes SLK. No car, in the history of cars, has given me more grief than my SLK. While I'm certain I got a "bad seed" the subsequent customer service, or lack there of, from Mercedes is what I found to be most staggering. Needless to say after creating a bit of a scene Mercedes finally did the right thing and took my car back. I exchanged it this weekend for a Land Rover and couldn't be happier. Just wanted to share. I hope my experience is unique to only me and that other Mercedes owners have not had the misfortune I have had to endure.

My MB dealer is great to me, just eveytime something needs repaired off warranty it's $1,000. This even includes the rear view mirror that vibrates annpoying much now. Yep, $1K to fix....
Hope you have better luck with the RR. Which one didi you get?

I got a new LR3. So far it's an absolute joy. The hidden costs of MB are quite killer. That and they just raised their lease milage rates to 25 cents (according to the dealer I spoke to) per mile over your allowance which is bound to upset a few people.

It's hard to believe that all the big car companies haven't really improved their CS, Lexus has shown how to do it & everyone else needs to step up!
That's quite a change there Andrew, going from a SLK to a Land Rover! |

I told the manager at the dealership that I would drive anything so long as it didn't have a Mercedes logo on the front.
Honestly, I've been looking at something like a Land Rover as a second car. It's hard trying to get gear to and from with only a SLK. Now I can haul all the cool gear I get to tell everyone about. Still looking into getting another sports car but I still have some homework to do. Although, and KennyT knows all to well, I have a soft spot for Ferrari as well as Aston. I'm leaning towards Aston though. Give it a year and let that horrid depreciation hit before I make the move. The Land Rover is quite a change but I do love it.

I've been seeing a lot of Aston's in my area, truly a beautiful car, but I followed a 360 spyder out of Sarasota today..... Different type of car to say the least!
