Quantum of Solace disappoints

After Casino Royale, I had high hopes for Quantum of Solace. Unfortunately, I have to say QOS disappoints, compared to its predecessor. Too bad they couldn't maintain the overall picture quality this time. Still a good movie; but not nearly as good as the last one in many ways.

I just got back from seeing this. I think it's probably the worst Bond film I've ever seen. No plot, no character development, Bond (like in Casino Royale) keeps getting his ass beat, and he does not even have any cool gadgets. Save your money on this one.

Those that may be dissapointed by Quantum may long for the day's of Roger Moore and his light "Musical Comedy" take on Bond, for others those that are more alligned with the Sean Connery/Timothy Dalton take on the charactor the latest entry in the Bond list is among the better ones. We are continuing charactor development from Casino Royale and establishing how Bond got to be "Bond". In his books Ian Fleming did not make our James to be an especially likeable chap, indeed he was a ruthless, cold blooded assasin and Quantum further takes us along that road to his own development/destruction (see the end credits where we finally get to see the fabled "Gun Barrell" sequence). I say keep up the good work!

That is good to hear. I`m from the Sean Connery. I thought Casino Royale was suprisingly good. I must make my way to go see it.

Did you actually see the movie? It was horribly constructed! Everyone in the the theater I was in was like, "WTF, is that it?" when it was over. Besides finding out Quantum was the name of the bad guy's gang, the title did not even really work.

It's an action movie, it does a fine job updating Bond for the present, and it doesn't dumb him down in the process. The movie rocks. Loved it.
