Thanks for the information everyone. Is it appropriate to put the all the speakers (except the subwoofer) in the walls / celinings? Center and surounds? Anything to be concerned about that?

Believe it or not, there are actually some pretty killer "In-wall" subwoofers. You'd think that they would shake the entire house but they "float" off of the studs and dont shake the walls directly.

If you want a good reference point before making a buying decision find a store that sells B&W in-wall speakers. Take your favorite DVD or CD and have a listen. They sound very, very good. If you feel they might be out of your price range then at least you have a really good quality reference by which you can judge other speakers!
Find nearest dealer: http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/display.aspx?infid=1426 B&W in-wall speakers are called "Custom" series. Good listening! |

I think there are a LOT of great in-wall speakers.
Sonance's Architectual Series look the best and sound good. Paradigm's inwalls are strong. RBH, Atlantic Technolgy and PSB also come to mind. I use PSBs. Genelec's active in-walls are good too. j
