Vintage speaker help

Hi guys...

I am looking for some info on some old speakers I found. Ive looked up the model numbers a bunch of times and cant find anything. I am hoping someone knows something about them or can point me in the right direction.


The back says
Chrysler 305mm woofer
30HC-1
20W 8ohm

Not sure what you want to know about them. From the photos they look like they are in pretty good shape with good surrounds still in tact. The rather small magnets make them questionable as to being high end woofers and the general look of them with the stamped steel frames reminds me of what they used to put in juke boxes. If the 20W is an indication of the power handling capacity of the drivers, they would have limited use compared to woofers of today.

What are your plans for these?

I was looking for specific info on the cabinets they came from and the maker. Someone on another forum lead me to some info about them being from speakers called "Living Audio". Apparently they are from Japan. Cabinets with similar model woofers are apparently very hifi and sought after. They could be from the late 1960s or into the 70s. Still no clue as to why my woofers say "Chrysler" and the other woofers from living audio say "Crysler". I tested these out and they sound great and get very loud with good bass. Tried them out on my old Nikko nr-1019.

Probably going to sell them since I just have the woofers. I bet the cabinets sound pretty good.

Late '60s or early '70s makes sense. Back then a 20 watt tube amp was pretty high end. Amazing the shape the surrounds are for being that old.

The design of the surrounds are very rigid like guitar loudspeaker types. You can press on them with your finger and they are very solid with little to no movement.
