B&W matrix 2
 

Hi all, im new on here and could do with a little help. ive been given a pair of B&W Matrix 2 speakers, one of the woofers is blown, and advice about replacing it? Thanks

Check out www.partsexpress.com they have a lot of choices. Get 2 that matches your current woofer's specs as close as possible. That may be difficult for that one, it's a pretty high end speaker. They also have surround kits if it is just the surrounds and the voice coil and spider are ok. Then you could check for a shop to replace the surrounds locally. Look for speaker re coning in the yellow pages or google. Good luck.

thanks for that. i dont want to sound totally dumb but when you say surround, what are you meaning. and how do i know if its the voicecoil or not?sorry to sound like a complete beginner.

The surround is the flexible ring that attaches the speaker cone to the frame. It is usually made of a foam material as shown in this link: Surround Kit For 8" Speaker Foam
