Moose,ScottV
I got into R/C cars a couple years back, haven't taken the plunge into planes yet for just that 'one crash' reason. I have a T-Maxx 2.5R and Jato 2.5, I plan to add a rock crawler to it, but haven't picked the chassis yet, maybe the new HPI Wheelie King 4x4 or the Axial Racing AX10 Scorpion.... Welcome to RCP Crawlers Moose, does your Revo have the 2.5R or 3.3 motor?? I have trashed the motor in my T-Maxx and have toyed with going to a 3.3 and dropping the gearing for more torque but am afraid it would be a little to fast for the abuse I give it.... Though, as long as I keep it away from immobile objects, it seems amazingly durable. I had a guy shooting pictures in the park I play in with them and he caught me with the truck ~ 5 feet in the air, it bounced, landed on it's feet and kept running! A quick spazz move and a 10 foot run into a metal pole and I was replacing the front swing arms on the right side! (fortunately I learned to always keep some extras around, saves the trip to the LHS!)

Yea, I know all about "immovable objects".
I've gotten real good at replacing a arms my self! My Revo has it's original 2.5R, I have been thinking about dropping in a big block but on the short tight tracks I run it on the 2.5R seems to work well. My sprint car has the same engine in it, this simplifies the spares problem & if I'm at a race & blow the engine I could just drop in the Revo engine & keep on running. That being said I will probably go with the 3.3 for both when it is time to replace the current engines. Being "stock" engines there isn't really a huge difference between the 2 engines & more torque is always a good thing! Rock crawling looks like a lot of fun, they are some wicked looking cars that seem to be able to climb walls! These things are just one reason I won't give Jerry a hard time about his earphones. I know I easily have $1000 in my sprint car alone! |

I almost bought the aluminum arms for my Jato, until the guy @ the LHS told me... Plastic breaks, aluminum bends, and breaks other things harder to fix...
I haven't done any racing yet, I take them out and beat on them! I love to jump the T-Maxx off this 3' tall pile of rocks and sand in one park.... When I get more time I plan to build a rock crawler, but that entails learning about electric systems so I am holding off for now, besides I barely have time to run the cars I have.

I am NOT having a good time with these headphones.
First off - there should be a law about paretns who fly babies in first class that allow them to CRY the whole way. Another way to look at things is - this would be a great place to test my new 25 dB down in-ear mnonitors. The new mold worked well. The left one was SO painful, I couldn't stand it. 1 hour into the flight, I went back to my broken Etimotyc Reserarch earphones. Another thing that REALLY bugs me about the UE10's is the wires need to be draped off the back of your ears. The Etimotycs come stright out of the ear molds and I find them to be WAY more comfortable. Note: Not everyone has the mold issues I do with my ears. You can stick many types on in-ear monitors right in and they work.
