What is the difference between JBL's Northridge line and the Studio L line? It looks to me like it is only visual.

I believe the Northridge Line is no longer in production. I can't say with certainty that the Studio L's are the successor to the Northridge line however, I did review the Studio L's and found them to be exceptional speakers for the money esspecially if you like action films and/or rock music. I would also say that the Studio L's build quality, esspecially the cabinet, is better than the Northridges'. I believe the Northridge Series was a bit more entry level than the Studio L's when they were around.

Robinson_A: i'm currently deciding between the JBL Studio L series and the Klipsch reference series. Since you're also in so.cal, do you know where i can go to audition the JBL Studio L series? I had a chance to listen to the Klipsch this weekend at Ken Crane.

Unfortunately, I am not aware of any local dealer for the JBL Studio L Series. In fact, I've only seen the JBL Studio L's for sale from on-line vendors. I would check out this link to hopefully find a local dealer.

Here in the Southeast part of the country Tweeter caries the Studio L's, that is where I saw them. I have owned JBL's for 30 years so I trust the manufacturer as far as above entry level goes.Maybe this will help.

I've heard both, not doing A/B comparison, but at different times. The Studio Ls were much better IMO. They are the best JBLs I've ever heard, actually.
