I have been saving and am getting close to purchasing a huge upgrade (for me) in audio. I've found a good local dealer that sells B&W, Rotel, Marantz, Classe, McIntosh, and some others. Because of my modest budget, the electronics are most likely going to be Rotel, or possibly Marantz. My question is, if I buy the CM series across the front (CM7s, and center), how big of a difference in sound would the M-1s be as surrounds. I have a medium/med-large living room with an 11 ft. viewing distance, and about 5 ft from the left and right surrounds, and probably 3-4 feet for the rear surrounds. The surrounds have to be set up high (probably 7-8 ft). So, I was hoping that if I could get them, and angle them down to the listening area, they wouldn't sound like completely different speakers from the front soundstage. Does anyone have experience with these models? The M-1 is more of a satelite, with a 4" fiberglass mid/bass driver, but still has the horn loaded aluminum dome. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
