ADP-590 surround alternatives?
 

I'm looking for some decent surrounds for my HT system. I was thinking about the 590's but their price is high. what else can I use for surrounds? I was thinking about using Axiom speakers. I know the surrounds don't get much in terms of wattage or volume so spending so much for the 590's doesn't seem like a good investment. Any thoughts?

How are the revel S30's in price compared to the 590's? I just looked at the Emotiva's erd-1 surrounds but they're not available yet though.

What about some studio 20's?

i always seem to prefer direct radiators for my surrounds.

I never thought about those as surrounds. I'll have to check them out. Why are the ADP-590's 5 driver 3way speakers when the surrounds don't get much bass, if any? I'll have to look into getting 4 of them for my 7.1 set-up.

Surrounds DO get bass, and much more so in MC Audio and with the new audio formats on HD DVD and Blu-ray, heck, even with new mixes on regular movies!

I spoke with my dealer today about using the studio 20's as surrounds, he said they are a good choice also. I may consider them depending on how the layout of the room goes.
