TAD HOME AUDIO

At HE 2007 on Saturday, one of the surprise for me, as far as best sound of the show, were a pair of beautiful, sweet sounding speakers with good bass, in the Pioneer room. The Director, Andew Jones was playing real music, cds from us in the room, and used a Sony reel to reel recorder. This by far, was the best I had heard up to this point.

No dealers yet here in Westchester County or Manhattan. Mr. Jones talked about how they use Beryllium as opposed to, Focal JM Lab to acheive their results
Though the room was hot, I stayed because of the sound. The amplication was some of the most peculiar looking units I had every seen. But, bottom line, very nice sound. I would love to demo them again, under better conditions.

Re: TAD HOME AUDIO

when I worked for Mark Levinson at Cello, we used to spool up his master tapes (note: this was mid-1990s) at 24/96 on a Nagra reel to reel.

It was SUCH an amazing upgrade over CD, it closed people right on the spot. Many of the people bought the Nagra too and some took them out in the field and used them (impressive). CDRs at the time were $10,000 for the player and $15 per disc - OUCH!!!!!

In the end - your system needs to sound good with the music you can buy today. CD is still the standard unfortunately. I wish 24-192 stereo on DVD-A or SACD was the norm by 2007 but it is the rareity.... DAMN YOU idiot major labels. 85% of your sales were in back catalog in 1993 and your sales were 65% higher. Idiots...
