Bravia DVD to Bravia TV HDMI Out of Range
I have had a BRavia upscaling DVD surround system for just over a year, recently bought a Bravia tv to go with it.
Connecting the two with an HDMI cable I get no picture - sometimes it says Out of Range. I have tried the video format on the DVD at 576, 720 and 1080. I can get a picture on the TV if I use a scart cable. Sony help line pretty useless - anybody any ideas how I can get the two to work?? Many thanks! |
Re: Bravia DVD to Bravia TV HDMI Out of Range
Assuming you've turned HDMI on in both units and cycled power on both.
Also, I saw a similar problem like yours here: http://www.avforums.com/forums/sony-...e-message.html Fix: "there's an option to tell the DVD player whether your TV is PAL or NTSC. I set it on NTSC and it now works fine" |
Re: Bravia DVD to Bravia TV HDMI Out of Range
I had it at one point where the TV 'saw' the DVD player in it's HDMI list - but just couldnt get the picture so i guess HDMI is turned on in both units.
What do you mena by 'cycled the power'? I'll have a go switching fom PAL to NTSC - when I work out how... Thanks for the reply! |
Re: Bravia DVD to Bravia TV HDMI Out of Range
Sounds like a HDCP handshake issue. I would look to Sony for firmware updated for both products.
