Just installed the marantz 6 in 2 out switcher. So far as far as video is concerned it works well and switches reasonably fast. The auto function (ie. detecting which input is active) seem to work fine. My equipment list connected to the switcher consist of PS3, Scientific Atlanta cable box, toshiba A35 HDDVD player, Panasonic Plasma, JVC HD1 projector. The machine is a bit bulky for just a switcher. I cannot attest to the audio part of HDMI since I don't have an HDMI compatible receiver yet.

The better switchers (Dtrovision comes to mind) use the best parts (specifically chipsets) thus are larger. Cheaper ones share the same chips for multiple inputs thus are slower, less trust worthy etc...
