This situation is even screwer than you know. The Hendrix film is edited from DA Penebacker's Monterey Pop footage and is owned by Experience Hendrix (the company that owns all things Hendrix) who are signed to Universal Music who are producing this HD-DVD. But the rights to the underlying movie, Monterey Pop are owned by Sony and so will only see the light of day, if ever, on Blu-Ray.
