Just an FYI,
A newer version of firmware is out for the XA2, not sure what it does as my player works perfectly but it's going in now. BTW as a MAC user it is kind of a PITA to download their firmware, so I filled out the little card inside the player and now whenever a firmware update comes out, Toshiba mails it to me on a disc! Pretty cool of them! KT

Just got my update disc a couple of days ago, and like you, I'm not exactly sure what all it offers but I installed it anyway. Just like my player to be up to date.
I love it that Toshiba sends their firmware update discs as soon as a new one's out. I agree, it is very cool of them.Seth |

Toshiba has firmware update 2.5 for the HD-XA2 and HD-A20. This is the long awaited firmware update that enables 1080p at 24fps.
According to Toshiba's website... "This firmware update includes support for 1080p/24Hz OUTPUT, additional OSD languages, improved network connectivity supporting the download of web-enabled network content associated with certain HD DVD discs, and also addresses certain disc playback and HDMI/DVI related issues identified by Toshiba." |

Mhy current set doesn't accept 24fps so I guess I'll wait for that one...

Same here Ken, my set, like yours doesn't do 1080p/24( interesting but we both have the same exact TV!, the Sony KDS-70XBR2).
